This 34.5m steel 22 passenger charter vessel was quality built by Jrou-Ryou Shipbuilding Company in Japan in 1991. Imported to Australia in 1999, she was converted into a tuna lonliner. A good sea boat and very manoeverable, suitable for a variety of uses.
The 13 knot hull speed is achieved with the Niigata 6MG-22HX @ 750rpm, derated to 500kw. Two Niigata gen sets give 150kw each. The 7 brine tanks hold 45 tonne, and can be run as a freezer at -20 degrees celsius. The refrigeration is fully automatic. The 6 tonne bait freezer is near new.
The fully airconditioned accommodation includes a skipper's cabin, 2 x 2 berth cabins and 2 x 4 berth cabins. A well appointed stainless steel galley with spacious lounge.
Comprehensive fishing equipment includes 2 x Hamilton Engineering spools, each holding 50Nm of 4mm mono. One spool is set up for fully independent bottom set lines.

Launched in 1995, here is a comprehensive 65’ x 20’ (19.8m x 6m) Phil Curran designed Freeman Bay built, Westcoaster. The vessel was designed and built specifically for dropline and fishtrap fishing. Powered by a V12 MAN, she has a top speed around 18kts. In reality, the vessel operates around 9.5/10kts @ 1300rpm using approx 40 Ltrs/hour including the genset. House power is from a 50kVA Auxiliary. Vessel has four Refrigeration compressors, 1 x airconditioner, 1 x brine tank, 1 for the forward fish hold and 1 for the aft hold. The forward fish hold has refrigerated plates on the sides and carries 4 tonne of fish loose on ice. The brine tanks above deck have refrigerated plates with 500 kg capacity of fish in each. Aft fish hold has an FDC and runs @ -2 deg C/-10 deg C and holds 2.8 tonnes of fish in icky bins. The ship holds 8000ltrs of diesel 1000 ltrs of waters and the desalinator makes approx 1500 ltrs/day. Accommodation includes a good working “full” galley, accommodation for approximately 6 crew, very good electronics including sonar radar.
