Description

The Gretha van Holland was built as a seagoing private yacht in order of the well known Dutch Verkade family in 1950 in Wartena in the Netherlands, baptized as 'Jan van Scorel'. This beautiful, classic-looking ship sailed with the family from 1950 to about 1959 on the Mediterranean Sea. Then she was sold to Feenstra Lines and converted into a passenger ship. She sailed as a small and exclusive Rhine ship until the 70's.

The Gretha van Holland has been under contract since 2002 with the largest tour operator for active holidays / cycling-sailing holidays in Europe: SE - Tours in Bremerhaven.

Until 2019, the ship sailed in a lake area in the state of Mecklenburg (north-east Germany). The Müritz. The ship has the right dimensions, 38.00 x 5.00 meters to sail in special areas.

She has successfully done that over the years. In 2021 a new route is planned in Poland, bicycle-sailing holidays from Wroclaw - Opole (near Krakow). This sailing area will once again be navigated exclusively by the Gretha of Holland.

The ship is very popular among the guests. The atmosphere of the wealth of the good old days, the equipment with air conditioning / heating / WIFI / private sanitary facilities, and of course the unique sailing areas make the trips with the Gretha van Holland something special. 24 hotel guests and 50 day passengers.

The Greta van Holland is offered as a fully running company, charter hotel ship for cycling holidays and can of course be purchased as a private yacht.
